Nearby Weston-Super-Mare has 4 miles of golden sandy beach & imposing pier, also home to the observation wheel & the popular Sea Aquarium. A short drive inland leads you to Britain’s most spectacular caves at Wookey Hole, the home of the Witch of Wookey, as well as the caves & cliffs at Cheddar Gorge. Visit Glastonbury Tor & the picturesque, quaint city of Wells. The shopper’s haven is at the Clarks outlet village at Street, & the city of Bath, teeming with architecture & its rich historical past including its famous Roman Baths & Royal Crescent is a great day out. The first 2 weeks in November is carnival season with the Bridgwater, Burnham & Weston Carnival. Minehead, has an excellent beach & is about 35 minutes away. Of particular interest should be Kilve, which is part of the Jurassic coastline & ideal for fossil hunting. Riding, sailing, golf & fishing are enjoyed locally.
