Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser is located at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser mountains, 752 meters above sea level. With its 1300 inhabitants, Scheffau is the smallest municipality in the Kaiser region. The Brandstadl mountain, Scheffau's local mountain, is ideal for hiking and mountain biking tours in summer and a great skiing area in winter.
